Pewdiepie has recently started playing The Walking Dead, a zombie horror/survival game with a dynamic storyline which adapts to your interactions and choices while playing.

The Walking Dead has been highly praised by fans as a new series to add to Pewdiepie’s ever-growing playlist of horror video games, with nearly 1 million views on episode 1 of the series. Pewdiepie is currently playing through the second episode of the Walking Dead, and is genuinely impressed by the series, complimenting the developers on the quality of graphics as well as the unpredictable plot development and characters.

The game is set in the United States within the brisk of a zombie apocalypse. You control the main character with a simple point and click interface, acquiring items and solving simple puzzles to progress through the story. Playing as Lee, you meet other survivors along the way including an eight year old girl named Clementine, who provides a rich emotional aspect to the game.

As the story develops you learn more about Lee’s questionable past and that of Clementine as she develops into a central character throughout the series. Clementine is a smart, well behaved girl which can either grow to look up to Lee as a father figure or begin to genuinely despise him depending on the actions you take.

From what Pewdie has played so far, there does not seem to be any right or wrong action to take whilst dealing with the other characters – but there are definitely negative consequences for saying or doing the wrong thing!

All of the characters have rich and engaging personalities and motivations, it’s up to you to decide how you choose to play the game, and with multiple endings it will give you a unique experience each time you play it.

The game is not ‘scary’, persay, but the character development, animation and music is all world class, owing a great deal of respect to its’ creators, Teltale games. The plot has many interesting twists and developments along the way, adding a unique perspective to an otherwise saturated Zombie Apocalypse niche.

The Walking Dead avoids the cliche of zombie games, and instead offers an interactive, cinematic experience which can be both beautiful and horrifying.

The interactive dialog that the Walking Dead uses is what decides what your future interactions with the other characters will be like. Similar to role playing games, you have the ability to build either a positive or negative disposition with other characters by actions such as giving or withholding food, and how you choose to speak and act towards them throughout the story.

The Walking dead is broken up into three episodes which are played sequentially start to finish. What makes The Walking dead unique however, is that fact that it plays and feels at times like a movie, not necessarily just a video game. This gives the game a unique reason for why you should give this game a look as the cinematic experience is awesome, and the horror elements are easily digested even by casual gamers.

Pewdiepie has promised that he will be playing all of the games in the series, and it would not be unrealistic to expect him to play any future games and series which are produced by the same developers.
